Home Grown Zucchini

We had our first major harvest (aside from a couple of cherry peppers and one teeny tiny tomato) from our garden today. A beautiful golden zucchini.

Also pictured are my new glasses. I like being able to see clearly, but they are going to take some getting used to. I feel like I'm always looking through a magnifying glass. When I drive my van feels lower to the road, I don't know if it's because now I can actually see the detail in the road or what, but I feel like I'm driving a car, not a van. Weird. And also people look shorter, everything really, looks shorter. And I have to mentally tell myself over and over again that when people look at me all they see are a normal pair of glasses, nothing exceptional or awkward, because I feel like I'm walking around wearing scuba goggles, it's so strange to see the rims of my glasses in my peripheral vision all the time. (Thank goodness for Google search by the way, I could not for the life of me figure out how to spell peripheral, and was so far off that the spell check couldn't even give me suggestions, so I typed it into Google search with the word 'vision' after it and it came right up, no sweat. I love technology!)

You think those zucchinis are great now, but just wait a month. My boys are always ready to make a zucchini launcher by the end of August. (OK, actually I'm a little jealous, I really miss my garden.)

give it two weeks with a new rx in your glasses. Also contacts help way way good for the point of view issues i have found. I also have stigmatism and nearsightedness but if it really bothers you in like a month go back get things adjusted and see if maybe you can get contacts. They look great :)

You look very cute! I feel like I have the same symptoms you described, although I can't find the post I read it on... I have a hard time driving at night because of the lights, and it's totally just been since Tate. I don't think I'm ready to go in for glasses yet, though...
And congrats on the zucchini! I am pretty jealous- I can't wait until we have a yard and I can have a garden!!!

How exciting! I love food from my Garden. And your glasses look great. You really get used to them after awhile. Having worn them nearly my whole life, I can attest to how much you will probably begin to loathe them though. Good luck :-)
