Our Fourth of July morning was pretty low key. We had the best intentions of getting up and going to the hot air balloons in Provo, but we were so exhausted from all the weekend's events that we decided to sleep in (as long as our children would let us, which wasn't very long). We had a nice blueberry waffle breakfast, and then just took it easy for most of the day, went grocery shopping, and got some chores done.
We BBQed hamburgers for dinner and I made sweet potato fries for the first time. They were a huge hit with the kids, especially Adelia. We went outside and Aaron and I played catch for awhile. Then Linc decided he wanted to play, so I tossed whiffle balls for him to hit. Then we traded and he pitched to me.(Yup, I guess I still bat with my tongue sticking out, what ya gonna do?) So funny.
We invited our friends and neighbors and Ryan and Melissa over to roast S'mores and light fireworks. We ha a great turnout, and we got to see all the neighborhood fireworks too. Adelia slept through it all. Right before all our guests got there, it started raining. We had to move the grill up onto the porch and the S'more stuff inside the garage. But it all worked out, and then it stopped raining, so all was well. Lincoln and Ivan's friend Sam brought his umbrella, which the kids thought was great fun.
It's always nice to invite lots of people because then you can combine fireworks for a better show. Ryan and Melissa brought their camera too, so we even got some great shots.
Ivan wouldn't touch the sparklers, but I love these pictures of him making a get-a-way.
Lincoln loved all the fireworks, and the sparklers, and having everyone around. He was in the height of his glory.
Then the adults started playing around with the camera settings...
