St. Patrick's Day and Nerf War Party

St. Patrick's Day is kind of a fun anniversary for us. This year marks five years since we moved into our house. It's hard to believe we've been here five years already. I thought by the time we'd lived here five years that all our projects would be finished. Haha! I feel like we've only just begun. But I look back and see what we have done, and it is good. I love our house, I love our neighborhood and our community. Our family has doubled in size since we moved in. We've been very happy here.

Lincoln, Ivan, and Adelia in 2012, shortly after we moved into our house.

Ivan turns eight tomorrow, and this is his year to have a birthday party with his friends. He wanted to do a Nerf War party, and today was the day.

We reserved the church gym. And Aaron set up table and chairs as structures to hide behind. He put ammo on the tables in the middle. Aaron had the kids play several different games, Capture the Flag, Last Man Down, etc. We served pizza and cupcakes. I think it was a pretty fun party. All the kids seemed to have a good time.

Ruby was hilarious. She wanted in on the action, and she wasn't about to let the fact that she wasn't strong enough to cock the gun stop her. She'd bring her gun to Aaron or I and we'd cock it for her, then she'd decide who she was going to shoot (usually Aaron) and she'd aim and pull the trigger, and then squeal with delight and run off to retrieve her bullet.
