Feisty Heist

Ha! This made me laugh.

We've been up to stuff, lots of stuff. And when the weather is nice, somehow, it makes being up to stuff a wonderful adventure, instead of a stressful torture (which is how I feel about it when it's cold ans snowing. I don't know why.)

First up....we took the kids roller skating a couple weeks ago. The three older kids skated, and Ruby insisted that she also skate. Ollie scootered, and Cal rode in the stroller. I like roller-blading. Maybe in another life I was a roller-derby queen. Haha! I should probably do it more often. I could totally go to the church parking lot, let the bigger kids loose on their bikes, and skate around with Cal.

Secondly....in light of the recent daylight savings time ruining all our lives, I need to post a couple reminders that sleep happens. Sometimes.

And as long as I'm putting up reminders here's another one:

Dear Aaron, you know what the kitchen looked like when you left this morning, and I'm 112% sure I can guess how it will look when you get home again this evening. So I'd like to offer up this picture to the universe, as proof, that for 30 seconds today, it really was clean. ;) Love, Wife

Thirdly, are we LOVING all this sunshine and outside time, or what?! I'm guzzling it up, in big sloppy gulps. I have been famished for the great out-of-doors. I took my kids to the park 3 times this week. I've been letting the chickens out to roam the yard freely and scratch around in the garden a bit before I plant anything. I spent one afternoon pruning my trees. We're in the middle of building a raspberry patch out of some old fence posts a neighbor gave us. I solved Cal's hat problem by tying him a do-rag. I couldn't find our baby sun hat, and I've never had great luck with them anyways, all my kids hate having the strap under their necks. So the do-rag fit the bill. It also fits Cal's personality really well...he's a happy baby pirate, and now his head won't burn. :)

Lincoln and Ivan started and Urban Fishing class with the city last week. I took Adelia and Ollie with me to the class and let them play in the sand on the beach while the big boys fished. It was a perfect evening.

Right behind Cal you can see the beginnings of our raspberry patch

Lincoln and Del wanted to learn how to shape rolls
Springville City League volleyball just came to an end. Although we did well all season, we did not do so well in the tournament. But it was fun to play and I'm going to miss it until stake vball starts up in the fall.
