Ivan woke up about an hour before Lincoln at nap time yesterday. I had a million and one things to do, and Ivan probably would have been just fine playing by himself, but I get one on one time with him so rarely, that I decided to sit down and play his latest favorite game with him. The containers game. He likes to take empty containers (empty spice bottles, empty peanut butter jars, the box to the Jenga game, an empty tucks pad container, etc.) and find things that will fit inside of them. He fills them up, then dumps them out and rearranges the contents, and starts all over filling the containers in a different way. It's really funny to watch. He's really particular about what goes where too. He wouldn't let me put things in, because I wasn't doing it right I guess. But I was allowed to help him find small toys, and to hand them to him, or to help him get things out when they got stuck. I love my Ivan Boy, and I'm glad I took an hour to spend time with just him, doing what he loves.
