New Year's Eve 2011

New Year's Eve was pretty low key, but still fun, this year. We did finger foods for dinner. Chicken wings, veggie tray, artichoke dip with baguettes, crackers and dip, and bubbly, of course. We ate dinner about 5pm, then we played Chutes and Ladders and Uno Moo with the kids. At 8pm we let them bang pots and pans out on the porch and then put them to bed. Hey, they got to stay up half hour past bedtime, and there is no way I'm letting them stay up til midnight and then taking them to church the next day. Forget it. I'm not going to do that to myself. Besides, they had no idea about the midnight thing anyway, and just thought it was fun to bang pots and pans. :) After they were in bed, the adults (Chuck and Debbie and Aaron and I) played Mexican Train until the New Year. Then we promptly went to bed. So glad we switch to 11am church.
