We did a family tree about a month ago for FHE one week. I just haven't gotten around to posting about it until now. Lincoln has been asking all kinds of questions about family relationships lately. He gets pretty confused about how his grandma could possibly be my mom, and what a great-grandma is, and those kinds of things. We thought making a family tree would help him to visualize it better.
We kept ousr simple, and just did grandparents. We used a full-sized poster board, which Aaron drew a tree on. Then we printed out pictures of everyone we wanted to include in the tree (minus a great-grandma and a great-grandpa who aren't alive, haven't been for quite awhile, and we therefore don't have pictures of.) and cut them out and had the kids help us glue them on in the right places as we talked about each generation. Then we colored the tree together. The poster board is currently hanging on the wall in the boys' room.
