Front Yard

The weather has been gorgeous all week long! We've been doing our best to take advantage of it. I'm trying really hard to get our front yard all cleaned up and looking like someone loves it. It's been slow going. With the kids' "help", I've weeded the flowerbed underneath the flowering plum tree, both Linden tree rings, and the beds along the front of the house. We've planted marigold seeds, snapdragon seeds, and some Dahlia bulbs. We're waiting for another truck bed full of compost to plant the gladiola bulbs. And I need Aaron's help digging up the grass to make a bed for the holy hocks. I also still have poppy seeds, and mammoth sunflower seeds to plant somewhere, but haven't decided where yet. Anyways, the kids and I have been cracking away at it a little bit each day. It's starting to look like we're getting somewhere. I can't wait for the flowers to start blooming.

The kids got extra hot today, while we were weeding, and decided that jumping on the trampoline with the sprinklers underneath was the perfect remedy. While they did that, I made slushes in our Blendtec and brought it out to them as a surprise. They thought I was pretty awesome for about 10 whole minutes, until I made them pick up their cups and spoons and put them inside in the sink. Oh well, can't win them all I guess.
