22 Weeks
I suppose it's time to post a picture of the bump, since I haven't yet. I've done bump pictures for all the other kids at various stages of the pregnancy, so I'd better do it for Calvin too. Here I am at just about 22 weeks.
I've been trying to avoid maternity clothes like the plague, but I finally had to give in an pull out the maternity jeans. :( It's not that I dislike my body when I'm pregnant or anything. Actually I think the body is an amazing thing, and it's basically a miracle that it can do what it can do. What I hate are maternity clothes.
They don't fit well, no matter what stage of pregnancy you are in. I feel like I am forever hiking them up, or pulling them down. I HATE runched sides on shirts with a passion. Probably because all my clothes are on either their 3rd or 4th or more pregnancy, and the elastic is mostly useless, which means baggy-but-not-in-a-good-way shirts. And don't get me started on "secret hidden panel jeans" where the panel comes down so low that unless you are wearing a tunic they are neither hidden nor are they secret. And they are the most ridiculous of all to hike back up into place, because you have to lift your shirt clear up to do it. I'm not going to buy new ones. I am going to burn mine come the end of September. I hate maternity clothes. Rant over.
Funner things to talk about. How about cravings? Now that I can finally eat something besides ramen noodles and raw potatoes, I am craving chips and salsa, watermelon, and gummy bears. Gummy bears is a new one, I've never craved that in any other pregnancy before. Weird, and kind of gross, but whatev. (Aaron hates when I say 'whatev'. Sorry Love.)
I think we've settled on room arrangements. Since we're having a boy, it made deciding where to put everyone really easy actually. We will move Rue into the room with Del. Ollie will share with Cal. Aaron is going to build another set of bunk beds for the little boys' room. He is going to rig it up so that the bed part of the bottom bunk can come off, and the crib will slide under there instead. So we'll have sort of like a loft bed for Ollie with the crib underneath. I think it will work out really well.
I have big plans for how I want to decorate the nursery this time. I've never really gotten to full on decorate a nursery before, either because we didn't own the house, or because we weren't sure if the room situation would be temporary or not. At any rate, this time we are going to paint the walls and everything. I want to paint them a soft green color in the background with the outline of white birch trees on top. The birch trees will have yellow leaves here and there, and also a few blueish grey birds. When Aaron gets the bunk bed built I want to stain it with a grey stain. And I want to paint the crib, the night stand, and the dresser white. I want to hang grey curtains and find a grey and white and yellow rug. (Ok, if we are daydreaming realistically, the rug is probably a stretch. But it would be so cute.) Anyways, I have a picture in my head of what I want it all to look like. It will be darling.
