Temple Square Via Front Runner

Well, they finally connected Front Runner all the way to Provo. It's been running about a week, and we decided the kids would get a kick out of riding the train to Salt Lake to see the lights on Temple Square. We invited Grandma and Grandpa Swan to come share our adventure with us.

We weren't planning a long trip. We were going to catch the 4:27pm train to SLC and arrive about 5:30pm and meet Kelly and Esther on Temple Square, walk around for an hour and catch the 7:00pm train and be back to Provo by 8:00pm. Things didn't go according to plan though. We missed the first train, but an employee assured us that the next one would be there in 20 minutes, so we decided to wait at the station. An hour and a half later the next train came. We didn't even get into Salt Lake until around 7:00pm. Then Kelly and Esther had a hard time finding parking, so it took a little while to meet up with them. And by the time we walked around and saw what we wanted to see, we were just in time to catch the 10:00pm train home. We made it home around 11:30pm.

But the important part is that the kids loved being on the train, and we finally got to cross seeing the Temple Square Lights off of our bucket list. :)

The kids did pretty well on the train ride home, considering how late it was. Adelia even got in some snuggle time with Grandpa.
