Lincoln Turns Four

Lincoln turned four years old on the 10th. The things he asked for were a scooter and a submarine and a tee and mit to play tee-ball. Aaron and I got him the scooter. We decided to let him open it in the morning before Aaron left for work, so that Linc could ride it around all day. I think he was excited.

After taking Aaron to work, we went on a bike ride over to the church parking lot. I let the kids ride around until it was too hot to be out. Then we headed back home for lunch and naps.

Lisa (Aaron's sister) and family were coming into town to stay the weekend with us for Aaron graduation. They got here in the afternoon, and we took all the kids to the splash park. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures.

For dinner, I fixed Lincoln's favorite, chicken and rice. Besides Lisa's family, Ryan and Melissa came over to have birthday dinner with us. We made quite the large group.

The night before, Ryan and Melissa were at our house, and they helped us decorate Lincoln's birthday cake. A submarine. I think it turned out awesome, especially the railing and the hatch with Buzz coming out.

Lincoln got spoiled rotten in he present department. From us he got the DVD Word Capers, the book Greek Mythology for Children (because he's been asking me questions about Hercules, so I thought this would be good), and some soccer shin guards, because he's signed up to play in the fall. Aunt Lisa and family gave him a Nerf basketball hoop.

After presents, the kids went back outside to keep working on their sandbox creations. In fact, they spent a lot of the weekend out there. The made some really cool things. My kids loved having their cousins around to play with.

Happy Birthday Lincoln. We love you so much, and are glad we've had you in our family for the last four years.
