Ivan is a Dominant Type 4

I decided to go through my It’s Just My Nature book, and make a bulleted list for each person in our family of the characteristics they have of each of the four Types. I thought having this visual would be interesting and telling. I am going to do one post per family member so that it’s not a gigantic long post. I’ll go oldest to youngest. :)

Ivan- Ivan is a secondary 2, he has a lot of both 2 and 4 in him, but definitely leads with a 4.

Type 1

• Word Portrait: Curious

Type 2

• You are naturally sensitive. Your softened, subdues movement enables alertness and creates this quality of sensitivity. You are sensitive to how people feel around you. You are sensitive if people feel uncomfortable, and you have a natural gift of inviting then to feel more comfortable. You are sensitive to details and plans. You can even experience sensitivity to foods, chemicals, electronics, and environments.
• You are not readily adaptable to change.
• You cannot as readily disconnect from what your plan is to a new plan.
• Your personality is naturally sensitive. It would benefit you to pay close attention to your tendency to feel resentment, and potentially excessive sensitivity in the face of even small humiliations.
• You prefer to observe rather than participate in larger social settings.

Type 3

• Word portrait: Competitive, Independent, Intense, Logical, Passionate, Persistent, Profoundness

Type 4

• Deeply reflective.
• Type 4 energy step back from a situation rather than jumping into it. This allows them to take in the bigger picture and see what is going on.
• You have a naturally keen view of your world, and when you feel inspired, you share your awareness in a very concise manner.
• You are not able to fake how you feel.
• You may appear harsh, judgmental, or too opinionated.
• You are your own authority. You do not give that authority to others, but will look to others you perceive as an authority – in their expertise in life – to guide you in your interests.
• You move forward with crystal clear focused determination, with a quiet confidence that you can do it better than most people.
• You do not like being put in the limelight spontaneously.
• You prefer to choose who you would like to interact with and whom you invite into your personal space.
• Difficult for people with Type 4 energy to disengage and change what they set out to do. They get on a track and stay on that track until they reach the point of completion, the point they have set in their mind to reach.
• You are private.
• Your thoughts and feelings are deep and reflective.
• You are not satisfied with the superficial.
• You search for the cause and correlation of things, seeking to understand the laws that effect human life and the principles by which you guide your life. You are a clear thinker and a thorough and efficient organizer of your thoughts. It is important for you to mentally organize your thoughts so you can move forward with a framework of structure. You are not at ease until this state has been achieved. You take in a lot of information and can quickly figure out what has value to you and what does not.
• You tend to take things literally in black and white terms.
• You reveal your innermost thoughts and feelings reluctantly and only to those whom you trust. Your feelings are deep and tender.
• You are quiet about your thoughts until you feel clear about your stance.
• You do not like being interrupted in the middle of sharing your stream of thought.
• If the person doesn’t pay close attention and asks the question again, the question seems redundant and superficial to you; therefore you don’t like to repeat yourself.
• The more you feel you are being honored, the more easily you make who you are available to others, and even yourself.
• You do not form acquaintances readily.
• You use phrases like, “That was stupid!”
• Others should know Type 4s have a respect for privacy and a respect for personal space. They consistently need time alone to process their thoughts and feelings, and to get clear on where they stand on things that matter to them.
• Don’t embarrass them in front of others!
• Don’t touch their stuff without asking.
• Dominate Type 4 Energy do not like being distracted when focused. It is very irritating to be distracted from the task at hand.
• You are clear and precise in your language and manner.
• You have a keen eye that sees clearly what needs to be done to improve, perfect, and streamline things, and make it so others can reproduce it in a cost effective manner.
• You are contemplative and seek more knowledge and wisdom.
• You can seem too authoritative, bossy, or condescending.
• You may appear harsh, judgmental, or too opinionated.
• You can get stuck in perfecting things, bringing forward movement to a standstill.
