Project Complete...Finally

A good wile ago, like when I was still pregnant with Oliver, I went to IKEA and bought six spice racks with the intent to paint them and turn them into book shelves for my millions of board books. I came home, painted about half of them, ran out of paint, and the project died.

Fast forward to now. The board books have been removed from Adelia's room because she keeps ripping them to pieces. They've been sitting in a pile in the hallway, and I can't stand it anymore. That was finally what motivated me to go buy more paint and finish.

The great thing about these shelves is that the are thin enough to fit behind a door when it is open. So all six of these shelves are on the wall in the boys room where the closet door opens up. We won't ever be able to put any furniture there anyway, so this is a nice use of space, and keeps the wall from looking to bare right there when the closet doors are shut. I'm pretty happy with it. So happy, that next time I'm at IKEA I plan on buying six more so there can be a shelf in Adelia's room as well. (Maybe by then she'll be over her book ruining obsession.)
