Adelia Mae Turns 3 Today!
This crazy gal asked for a dump truck and a pink race car cake for her birthday, but also insisted she wear a skirt and do her hair "like cat ears". And that is just typical Adelia for you. I love her crazy imagination, her happy constant chatter, and the silliness she adds to our family. She's a bit of a free spirit, and never afraid to make a mess. She loves to be outside and to play in the dirt.
We have too many toys at our house, so for hers and Lincoln's (whose bday is in a week) combined birthday present, Aaron built a sand box. It was a huge success. The kids couldn't even wait long enough for Aaron and I to shovel the sand into it, that jumped right in and started to play while we piled the sand over and around them. :)
We kind of split the celebrating two, we did some today and some last night so that Grandma and Grandpa Swan and Lisa and her kids could party with us. (They are headed back down to St. George today.) Lisa's two oldest boys, Jordan and Carter, are pretty much professional cake decorators. They make all sorts of awesome creations. They offered to make Adelia's cake, and I was very happy to let them. Like I said above, she wanted a pink race car (no idea where that came from), and I think it turned out awesome!
Cinderella is driving, of course. This race car is way better than the Barbie corvette if you ask me. It took Del about three tries to blow out all her candles.
And then she opened presents, some awesome sand toys from Lisa and family, and Glitter Zoobs from Grandma and Grandpa Swan.
Today she picked to have Malto Meal for breakfast. And then she got to go with Daddy to pick up the sand to fill the sandbox with. Then she and her brothers spent most of the rest of the day playing in the sandbox.
We had to go grocery shopping, but while we were at Macey's we took a break for ice cream cones. Del had hers dipped in chocolate and got it all over the place! Haha.
After dinner, she got to open two more presents before bed. A dump truck for the sandbox from Gramma Tam and Papa Kerry, and a book Alice the Fairy, from Aaron and I.
I think she had a great day. She was all tuckered out when I went to check on her a little later.
Happy Birthday my beautiful, smart Adelia girl. We are so glad you are in our family.
