Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood

My wonderful sister-in-law Sydni recommended this book to me. I took her up on it, and I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed this book a lot. It's short (only like 150 pages I think), and it's written to help parents with kids ages birth to six years, discipline their kids using love and logic (hence the name). It's written by a father and a son, whose goal it is to help parents teach their children to be obedient, well-behaved members of society, with out all the anger and frustration and nagging. I thought they did a very good job of presenting their information in an entertaining way, using lots of examples and stories. I also thought they did a good job in keeping it simple and easy to understand. Another thing I liked about it is that at the end of each chapter they give you what they call an "experiment" to work on. I liked that because it gives you a place to start, instead of just throwing a truck-load of information at you and saying "you figure out how to administer all this new stuff to your kids over night". Their method seems very do-able. I love that their main goal is to have a loving parent-child relationship where the parents are helping the children to learn how to make good decisions on their own. So if you are a parent (or ever plan on being one) and you are tired of fighting your kids, or you're out of ideas on how to get the daily routine to go smoothly, or even if you are just trying to learn about different parenting styles, then I recommend you read this book.
