No Repeat November: A DYT Challenge

A couple of years ago I did something for me. I bought, completed, and started following the Dressing Your Truth course by Carol Tuttle. I got into it, actually, because I love the energy profiling part, and how it teaches you to interact with and really understand different kinds of people. The fashion side of it is just a really fun tangent. And while it's more like the icing on the cake, it's been something that I have enjoyed doing for myself.

As part of the program you get to decide which Energy Type you are. I am absolutely, no doubt about it, a Type 3. I'm not going to go into all that right here in this post, but if you want to learn more about Energy Profiling and the Types you can look here

Once of the things I am a part of because of my DYT is membership is the Type 3 Facebook page. This is a group page for Type 3 women who have completed the DYT course. I love it! It's fun to meet other women from all over the world who are similar to me. The group is mostly focused on the fashion end of things, and we use each other as resources for ideas, tips, and where to find good deals. It's all just for fun.

One of the things the T3 page does that I love is monthly challenges. I have no idea if the other pages do anything like this. But each month on our page there is a challenge that group members can complete if they want to. The challenges might be things like wearing color combos you've never tried before, or putting together monochromatic outfits, or accessorizing with items you never would have worn pre-DYT, etc. November's challenge is called No Repeat November. Basically the challenge is to not repeat any outfit for the entire month of November. You can wear the same articles of clothing more than once, but not paired together. It's kind of hard, and it helps you get creative, and try things you might not have otherwise tried. And of course we all take pictures and post them, so we can get ideas and see all the different combos and styles everyone comes up with and give (positive) feedback.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge this year. Maybe that's really self-centered of me, but oh well. The top picture is my favorite outfit. You'll see in a few pics below that I wore it again only with a brown sweater instead of my green jacket, and boots instead of my green toms. I did not take pictures of every single outfit, just my most favorite ones. The idea is to show all the elements of the outfit if possible; so hair, jewelry, jacket, outfit, belt, pants/skirt/leggings, shoes. That way everyone can see how all the little pieces fit together to make the whole look. And the littlest details really do make a difference sometime, it's interesting how that is. Sometimes I had my kids take the pictures for me, and those turned out better than the ones I took of myself, because we could go outside where the lighting was a lot better.

Super cute, my friend! I wish I could get over the cost of the program...and my diy efforts have been less than successful. I love how blue your eyes look in some of those outfits!
