After beautiful weather most of the week, we woke up to the snowstorm of the year this morning. It's not supposed to last, and my guess is, that it will melt before the end of the day. It was kind of random though. And as we were driving Aaron to work this morning, Lincoln said, "Mom, this is NOT a good day for a bike ride."
Later on in the morning, we met up with some of our friends at Provo Macey's for the annual Easter scavenger hunt that they do for pre-schoolers. I like it so much better than the typical, every-one-get-trampled-and-come-away-empty-handed Easter egg hunts that they do at the parks. As you walk in the door of Macey's someone hands you a paper with 9 different animals on it. The kids get to walk around to all the different departments looking for giant pictures of those animals, when they find it, they go to the counter closest to where the picture is hung (the deli counter for example, or the meet counter, or the pharmacy) and tell the cashier what sound that animal makes, and then the cashier hand them a plastic egg for their efforts. Everyone gets the same number of eggs, everyone has fun looking for the animals, there are no crazy parents out to kill each other to make sure their toddler gets an egg, it's great. My kids have a blast every year.
Lincoln, Sam, Tyler, Ivan, Adelia, and Carson
They also get to make bunny ear hats, and have their noses painted like a bunny if they want. This year, Lincoln and Adelia were in, and Ivan was not. And no amount of coaxing was going to convince him that he wanted bunny ears. But it's all good. We had a good time, and that's what counts.
I've been kind of a slacker about Easter this year. Last year we did all sorts of awesome activities for the week proceeding Easter, that taught the real meaning of Easter in fun ways and how we celebrate our Savior. This year, I haven't had the energy to come up with anything fun. We haven't even done an art project. I'm really behind. I need to get on the ball...I feel like I'm failing as a parent in the religious education department this go-around.

I like that idea for the egg hunt very cute! Give yourself a break you are a great parent! Your kids will grow up knowing the true meaning of Easter and have fun memories too.....it all works out! I forgot to even get out the decorations this year. I pulled the buckets out today since they will need to be filled tonight ;)Love you girl!
