Memorial Day 2011
We had a wonderful Memorial Day. We opted to host the family party, rather than drive all the way up to Hooper for it. I much prefer hosting to driving. Kyle and Kelsey, Tanya and her two boys Graham and Burke, and Mom and Kerry all came down to help us celebrate. We had a ton of delicious food. After eating we put kids down for naps, and played Curses. Curses always reminds me of my freshman year at BYU because we used to play it for hours down in the lobby of Deseret Towers. So fun. Tanya was the winner. Then the family all left so that they could hopefully miss a traffic jam that was supposed to be happening in Utah County. Who chooses to put up a bridge and close the freeway on Memorial Day? Dumb. I'll be so happy when all the construction is gone. Driving anywhere in between Spanish Fork to Point of the Mountain is a horrendous nightmare these days.
Here are a couple funny pictures of Ivan sneaking chips. Love that kid.
After everyone woke up from naps, the weather had cleared up and we decided to go for a walk to the big park that's just a block or so north of us. The kids chose the swing set as their territory, and we had fun pushing them and listening to them laugh hysterically.
You might want to click play on this video and then close your eyes. The motion of the swing will make you sick, but it's so funny to hear Lincoln laughing so hard.
We decided it was good enough weather that we'd come home and work on our garden! Aaron got all the trellis up. As of right now all our sunflowers are planted, all of our tomatoes are planted (we are going to have the coolest tomatoes, stripey ones, black ones, pineapple ones, Seattle ones, yellow ones, and a few more), two of our peppers planted, and our yellow zucchini planted. Everything else we're planting we have to plant as seeds, and we need to do it quick. I think I love gardening, but it will be a lot easier when Adi is big enough to not attempt to eat everything in sight.
