My mom came down and took our boys to go and stay with her from Thursday afternoon until Saturday afternoon. So we got to hang out, just Aaron and Adelia and I. It was nice having some quiet one on one time with my new baby girl. In the picture above she has her eyes open. We had to wait a few days to catch this on camera. She does not open her eyes very often, and only the last two days has had small 10 minute spurts of being awake while not eating.
I feel like I've been a little left out of the pictures, so here's one of me and her. :)
As far as sleeping goes, we're still in the day/night confusion stage. She sleeps lots and lots during the day, and gets up about every hour and a half to eat every night. Some nights are better than others though, last night she was up about every 15 minutes from 10:30pm-1:30am and then slept until 6:00am. So, that wasn't too bad.
It always amazes me how small they are at first. I think it looks like this car seat is going to swallow her whole!
I loved the little bow they put in her hair at the hospital. We had to run to Target to get some other things, like a bath sponge, and while we were there of course I had to check out the dollar bin, and found a 6 pack of ribbon. So I got two different kinds, and now have enough to make her 12 different hair bows. :) Also, while I was at the hospital, I had the idea that I should keep the little container the Tucks pads came in once they ran out, because it has a really easy lid to screw on and off, and I thought my boys would like playing with it (they are really into putting things in containers right now). My new and better idea was to decorate it with scrap book paper and use it for Adelia's bows. The boys can have the next one when I'm done with it. But I thought this one turned out really cute, and I'm excited about the cute little bows for Adelia's hair.
Saturday night, our boys came back, so now the real adventure begins. Ivan woke up sometime in the middle of the night with a raspy cough and a bit of a sore throat (we think, at least). Lincoln woke up in the morning complaining about a stomach ache. Aaron told him to go lie down, and when he went to check on Linc a few minutes later, Linc was sound asleep in his bed. We decided Ivan was probably fine, and so Aaron took Ivan to church because Aaron had to teach the Sunday School lesson. I stayed home with Lincoln and Adelia. We all three slept most of the morning until about 10:30am. Aaron and Ivan decided not to go to Priesthood because Ivan was pretty cranky, so they got home about 11:30 and Ivan went down for a nap. Adelia was sleeping, and Aaron looked exhausted, so I told him to go have a nap and I would play with Lincoln. Linc and I colored, cut, and pasted together a couple birthday cards.
Adelia and Ivan both woke up screaming at the same time. So I fed Adelia, and sent Lincoln in to wake up Aaron to take care of Ivan. A little later, Lincoln finally got interested enough in his baby sister to ask to hold her. He was pretty cute with her, but is having a hard time understanding that she doesn't like toys yet. He tried to feed her an olive too, so we had to have a discussion about how babies only eat milk.
And of course, when you feed a baby a million times a day, the toddler is obviously going to pick up on it and start asking a lot of questions about the process. I want to be open and honest with him, but I tried to pick my words carefully so that if they ever get repeated at full volume int he grocery store or somewhere, I won't have to be embarrassed. I came up with this. Mommy makes milk for Adelia to eat. The milk comes out of Mommy's chest (I decided "chest" was a word I could handle hearing repeated in any sort of company). For now that was all the info Linc wanted to know...we'll see how it goes in the next little bit.
So ya, today is Monday. Aaron left at about 10:30 this morning to go to work, so I've been parenting the 3 all by myself for the last few hours. I made it until nap time. So I guess I'm going ok. We'll see how this afternoon goes. I'm still pretty sore, so it's hard for me to move around a lot. I'm not sure how we'll pass the time this afternoon. I'm also trying really hard to get everything ready for Lincoln's birthday tomorrow without over doing it. (My energy level, not the party, haha) I'm trying to get his cake baked and his presents all wrapped today. House work in any form, has pretty much been thrown out the window for now, until I feel like I can move and have some stamina. And thankfully the Relief Society and some great friends are bringing us dinner this week, so I don't have to worry about that. If we can make it through this week, then Aaron's Mom will be here next week. :) Wish us luck!

She is absolutely darling! And you look so good! Congrats again!
You really do look amazing! I can't imagine how hard three kids will be, especially since they were sick. Good luck with everything. Wish I was close enough to help out :-)
