We went camping with Gramma Tam and Papa Kerry up near Strawberry Reservoir this weekend. Oh! It was lovely. Mountains, trees, campfire, wildlife, yes please!
Aside from not sleeping, Rue was a pretty good camper. She sort of stayed on her blanket, and taste tested pine cones and pebbles. I think she was just as happy to get out doors as I was.
Mom and Kerry made a delicious Dutch Oven chicken and potato and cobbler dinner. I took good notes, so I'm hoping I can recreate the meal with out Dutch Oven in our fire pit in the back yard. That would be totally cool.
Aaron made the boys a Mancala game out of nature. It was pretty sweet, and it kept the kids busy for hours. Who'd a thunk?
Adelia kept calling she, Mom, Ruby and I, the camping girls. So here we are:
Ollie had a rough night too. He and Rue took turns waking each other up. But, he was still a pretty happy camper (haha!) in the morning, so I guess we'll keep him.
We took the scenic route home on a dirt road over the mountains. It was gorgeous! Of course pictures don't do it justice.
