FHE: Noah's Ark, Bath Tub Style

We've all been sick feeling since Friday. Needless to say, by today my patience was gone, everyone was cranky, no plans were made in advance for FHE, the kids desperately needed to get to bed on time AND baths (thanks to a spaghetti dinner that got everywhere). BUT, we've been trying really hard to do FHE. Tonight of all nights, I kind of wanted to just skip it, but Aaron to the rescue! He suggested that we act out Noah's ark while the kids took a bath. So while the kids finished up dinner, I went into the toy closet and gathered up all our Little People and some animals that I knew would be ok in the water. Then we stripped the kids down and put them in a dry bath tub with all the Little People. We chose one to be Noah. Then we acted out the story, and put Noah and all the animals into a large, empty, plastic jar and screwed the lid on tight. Then we filled the tub. All the Little People drowned, and Noah and the animals stayed dry and floated around in the "ark". We sang Follow the Prophet. The whole thing took about 5 minutes. The kids were washed and put to bed. Everyone was happy.

*After re-reading this, I should probably note that we did try really hard to keep the emphasis on the fact that Noah was saved, not that everyone else drowned. But in retrospect, it might have been slightly disturbing to see all the Little People floating around in the bath tub "drowned". But only if you think about it too much.

What a great idea for FHE. As for them drowning, it did happen for all those not in the ark. So I don't know how you would go around it, maybe say they perished?
