FHE: The Tree of Life

Aaron surprised me by preparing a Family Home Evening Lesson last night. He went in the back room, and some how got it all ready to go without my even knowing. He did the tree of life lesson out of 1 Nephi, complete with iron rod, tree of life, and sweet fruit. I was so impressed, and the kids had a blast.

The Tree of Life is made out of a skinny dowel, two hangers, duct tape, and paper clips holding sandwich baggies with pineapple pieces inside. :) Aaron get an A+ in creativity.

The iron rod is a length of rope that we have at our house thanks to Rob who left it with us so we could return it to Aaron's dad next time we see him. (We also have a vacuum seal bag and a tarp for you.) Aaron tied the rope to the front door knob, then to the hallway door knob, and then to the foot of the couch, making a zigzag across our living room.

We read the story of Lehi's dream out of 1 Nephi first. Then the boys got to act it out. Lincoln held on to the rod blind folded, and Ivan followed without a blind fold. They were pretty excited to get their pineapple at the end.
