After many wrestling matches, plenty of crying, and lots of blurry, slobbery photos, I've finally captured Lincoln's teeth bumps on film! (As you can see in the picture, I pretty much had to strap him down to do it.) No, the little buggers haven't come through the gums yet, but any day now they are bound to. Meanwhile, we'll be liberally applying the baby Ora-gel, feeding the little guy chunks of ice, and letting him gnaw on basically everything he can get his hands on. Sheesh, you'd think we had a puppy! :)

So I thought since it was so hot today that I would take Lincoln swimming. More about that later, but as I was preparing Lincoln to go swimming (not an easy task, mind you) I came to an alarming realization. Up until this point I thought all swim diapers were generic. For example the last ones we bought had a picture of Nemo on them, and I didn't really think anything of it. When I was at the store last time, I found Lincoln's size and dropped the package in the cart, giving them no more thought...that is until this afternoon. Apparently, swim diapers come in boy kind and girl kind. I had bought the girl kind. So for the rest of the summer Lincoln will be sporting Ariel on his cute little bottom. Oh well, at least his swim suit covers it up, right? You can see Lincoln's horrified expression in the pic above. Scarred for life.

As I mentioned above, I thought we'd go swimming today since it was so incredibly hot. I got the two of us all decked out in our swimming suits, applied the sun screen, gathered the towels, the water, ya know all the junk you have to take with you to the pool, and we headed out. After the 5 minute walk in the blistering sun, I was really looking forward to a refreshing dip, only to discover that the pool was closed! Cripes. Well, I wasn't letting all my hard work (not to mention one Ariel swim diaper) go to waste, so I filled up the tub!

I think Lincoln had a pretty good time. Although I'm sure he thought it was strange to be having a semi-cold bath with his clothes on. But he splished and splashed to his little heart's content, for all of about 15 minutes, at which time he decided to pull the plug and end his make-shift swim session.

When Aaron got home from work he brought with him an armful of moving boxes. In order to entertain Lincoln he set up the boxes fort style in the living room. He then commenced to give Lincoln, not a horse ride mind, but an elephant ride. It was hilarious.

Swim baths come in handy more than you think. we use them even when the weather changes. It is so hard to adjust to not being able to swim that when the kids are little(we are almost out of this stage)we let them swim in the bathtub.
pI am SOO glad that my baby isn't the only boy sportin' the Little Mermaid swim diapers. Like you, I didn't pay any attention to what was printed on the diaper, I only made sure I got the right size. And to make it worse, I bought them at Costco, so I only have about a million little girl swim diapers for my very boyish little boy.
