I coached Adelia's coach-pitch team this year, and it was a lot of fun. We didn't know any of the other girls on our team, but they were nice girls and they were quick learners.
Something interesting I've noticed as I've coached my kids' teams....the boys are more aggressive, but they are terrible listeners. The biggest challenge in coaching little boys is to get them to pay attention. You have to tell them the same thing a million times, but then on the field they are aggressive they want to make plays and score runs. Little girls are fantastic listeners and sooooo much easier to manage. They'll stay in their batter order line, they listen when you tell them where the next play is and they do it! But they are a bit timid. They don't want to hurt someone's feelings by getting them out, and they are totally there to socialize. I'm always telling them to run hard, or swing hard. It's funny.
Ivan did really well on his coach-pitch baseball team too. He and his friend Cache were just amazing.
Here's this year's swim team picture: Adelia is the bottom left corner, and I'm sure my boys are in there somewhere.
Ollie, Ruby, and Cal (and Aaron), have been good sports to come and watch all the many baseball and softball games we had going every week all season long.
