Today for school we made Da Vinci parachutes. We tied foam balls to the bottom (because all the action figures we tried were too heavy) and that seemed to work pretty well. We got out our stop watch and timed how long it took a ball to drop without the parachute, then we timed it again when it was tied to the parachute. It took longer for the ball with the parachute to hit the ground, so I considered our project a success.
