Peter and the Wolf

Today we took the day off from book work for a little cultural education. The Covey Center and the Utah Valley Symphony was putting on a free production of Peter and the Wolf for school children, and we were lucky enough to score tickets! So we spent the morning at the symphony. I love homeschooling.

The kids were pretty well behaved, I thought. They were at least as well behaved as the third graders we sat behind. I think Ivan was the most interested in the production. He seemed to follow the story really well, and when the musicians would change instruments he'd lean over to mean and say, "That's the wolf Mom." or "That one's the grandfather. He's mad." Lincoln was very interested in the stage lighting, and kept pointing out to me when the back ground light would change, and kept wanting to show me how the light was coming from the back of the auditorium. Adelia was very curious about her folding seat. :) All three were a little bit frightened by the wolf.

In the afternoon, we watched the old Disney version on youtube. I remember watching and loving this as a kid.
