Letter Day: L is for Lion

We finally got to have letter day today! We've postponed it so many times for the holidays, and sick children, and family in town, I feel like it's been forever!

It was my turn for letter L, and I decided to do lions because the Springville library has a lion kit. :) I read the kids a lion counting book. Then we made lions out of paper L's and a paper plate. Here is Ivan's.

With all the time I had, I probably could have come up with something cuter, but I didn't. Sorry. Next we made a lion snack out of rice cakes, peanut butter, chow mien noodles, and raisins. We did these for preschool once when we talked about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb. Ivan ate his before I could get a picture.

I meant to sing Leo the Lion with the kids, but I totally forgot. But for future reference, it goes like this:

Leo the lion is the king of the jungle
And his jaws are open wide
ROOOAAARRR!

Leo the lion is the king of the jungle
So you better run away and hide
RRROOOOAAARRRR!
