Catch Up

My poor neglected blog! We have had a rough week and a half at our house and the blog did not make the cut. But I'm glad to say we're back in action. Now the catching up part, which I hate, because it means something is going to get left out. But here's our best try.

My Birthday

Happy Birthday to me, I am now 24 years old. Woo-hoo. I had a wonderful birthday. My mom came up to spend the day with me. Aaron made me a delicious German Pancake breakfast (which I promptly threw up right after, stupid morning sickness!) and decorated the living room for me. We opened a few presents before he left for work. Aaron and his parents went in together to get me an awesome new camera. It's a Sony Cibershot and it's light blue and I'm so excited! My mom got me some new vest for my moose )I have a Welcome Moose that hangs outside my front door, it wears vests that change for every holiday or season, I already had the four seasons, but Mom gave me the rest of the holidays!) and a shopping trip with her.

My mom and I got the boys ready to go and went shopping!!!!! We spent all morning at the mall, mostly in the Motherhood Maternity store. I found a swimming suit, a pair of jeans, a pair of shorts, a black dress for Ryan and Melissa's wedding, and a really cute out fit just for the heck of it.

Then we went to the kids play area to let Lincoln and Ivan run out some of their energy. Before I let Lincoln play though I told him he had to go and use the big potty. So I took him in we went in a stall, got him seated and all that. Well...the potty was a little bit funny shaped so he was having trouble balancing on it, so with one hand I had to hold him up there. With the other hand I was trying to keep things from spraying all over, if you know what I mean, but I was doing a really bad job. Pee went spraying EVERYWHERE, on my sweatshirt, on my jeans, on Lincoln's pants, on his shirt, on the floor, on the walls of the stall, and even out of the stall I found some. It didn't matter where I pointed the thing it seemed, it just kept spraying like a garden hose with too much pressure and no one to hold it down. When he was done I cleaned everything up as best I could. But holy cow. When I called to tell Aaron about it later he just laughed and laughed at me.

After the play area, we went to Children's Place, and found Lincoln some church shoes and both Ivan and Lincoln some new church outfits. They're gonna be so cute on Sundays! Then we window shopped at a few more places and had lunch at Chic Fillet.

Then we went home and put the boys down for their naps. Mom and I tried to get some sewing done, but kept being interupted by phone calls and people stopping at the door. We finally gave p sewing when my brother Kyle and his girlfriend Kelsey came over to hang out.

Kerry and Tanner came down after Aaron got off work and we all went to Brick Oven for dinner. Kelly met us there too to celebrate. Then we came home and had chocolate chip zuchini cake and opened some more presents. Tanner gave me an awesome yellow sweatshirt, which sadly will not fit my growing pregnant stomach for much longer. And Kelly gave me a really nice case for my new camera.

Thanks everyone for the cards, phone calls, emails, well wishes, etc. that made my b-day such a wonderful day!

The Plague

A few days after my birthday we noticed Ivan was really crabby again and then he started to get a fever. We took him back in to the doctor and found out that he had another ear infection. Oh joy. We got some more antibiotic, this time a little stronger, it was amoxocillan and augmentan. We started giving him that but his fevers would go away with Tylenol, but would come back in a few hours and they were really high, like 103.9. In the mean time I started feeling really sick too. I thought it was just pregnancy upset stomach, but then Wednesday night I started throwing up every half hour. I'm pretty sure I threw up everything I've eaten since Christmas and then I'd still sit in front of the toilet and dry heave. Yuck. So poor Aaron had to miss class and work Thursday and Friday because I was spending all my time in the bathroom. And little Ivan was miserable with a fever and not feeling well at all. His fever finally broke Friday morning at about 5:00am, it was after that that we started to notice he was getting a rash on his back and his tummy and on his neck and behind his ears and on his forehead. We figured he was probably allergic to the antibiotics he was on. We called in to the doctor on Saturday (of course after the Health Center was closed so we couldn't take him in) and the nurse told us to stop giving him the medicine and then let our doctor know what happened with the rash in a few days.

I finally started feeling better on Saturday. We cleaned our house as best we could because Aaron's mom was coming into town and staying a week for Aaron's cousin Bryan's wedding. When she got in we visited with her for awhile, and then realized that both of us were teaching Sunday School the next day and neither of us were prepared with our lessons. (Aaron teaches Gospel Doctrine and and just got called to teach the Family History course.) So we stayed up way too late getting prepared for that.

Sunday morning was crazy (of course we have 9 o'clock church) with both of us running around trying to get ourselves and our children ready and finish up our lessons. We did make it in time for the Sacrament though, so not too bad. Our lessons went well I think. I felt bad for the couple who volunteered to hold Ivan while we taught. He really wasn't feeling well, and I'm sure he was crabby. She said he was good though and just snuggled up with her the whole hour. It's going to be hard for me to get used to having to have someone else hold my baby every third week when both Aaron and I are teaching together. Sunday night we went over to Richard and Debby's for dinner (Aaron's aunt and uncle) with Aaron's two brothers and their girlfriends, and Aaron's mom, and Aunt Karen and cousin Bryan and his fiance. It was a regular party. Debby served Salmon with noodles and salad. It was the best meal I've eaten in a really long time! I stuffed myself so full we had to wait a half hour before we could the the homemade german chocolate cake. Mmmmmm.....

Monday morning I took Ivan in to the doctor. For a minute she thought he might have Rosyola, which was kind of scary, but after going over his rash in detail with me, she decided it was just a cellion rash (from the antibiotic) and that she was going to put it down on his chart as an allergy, but if a doctor ever asked me about it, I was to say that we prefered to use some other type of medicine if possible, but if we needed to use the amoxicillon augmenton we could and just watch him carefully, but if he was ever on it and I noticed hives or swelling of the face to stop using it immediately and never use it again. I assume that means his allergy is mild. Then we went up on campus and ate lunch with Aaron, then came home and put the boys down for a nap. I had a doctor appointment for me in the afternoon, and thankfully Debbie (Aaron's mom) was willing to stay with my boys while I went by myself. The doc said the heart beat looks great, and that my uterus is the right size for how tall I am and that we are good to go. I scheduled the ultrasound to find out what we're having for March 17th! Two weeks away. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

I think things are finally starting to get back to normal health wise. I hope so, I don't really want to have to handle anymore sickness. Maybe if it would just start warming up and we could go outside for most of the day.....

And here are some pictures. I've hardly had time to even look at my new camera :( But Aaron took the kids to the park on Friday while I was in bed trying to recover from the stomach flu, and he took these.

I love those cute boys!
